Mr. Asaduzzaman Selim, a pioneer in Bangladesh’s development sector, has dedicated over 30 years to advancing human rights and social justice. In 1995, he founded Manab Unnayan Kendra (MUK), a rights-based organization that empowers vulnerable rural communities to claim dignity, democracy, and essential services.
From its base in Meherpur Sadar, MUK has grown into a trusted partner of both local communities and global agencies like the EU and USAID, delivering impactful projects across ten districts. Known for transparency and efficiency, Selim has built MUK’s reputation as a beacon of accountability and empowerment.
Beyond his leadership at MUK, Selim actively engages in national networks on human rights, gender, SRHR, HIV/AIDS, and social justice—bridging grassroots voices with national policy platforms. His vision continues to expand civic space and strengthen community resilience across Bangladesh.
